031News is a local news portal for Osijek, Slavonia & Baranja. We cover news, sport, economy, crime and events from our region, with the context and local figures the wider media picture often leaves out.

Editorial principles

• Original text. We do not copy other outlets’ articles verbatim. We name and link our sources.
• Verification before publishing. In crime reporting we are restrained: we do not name victims and we state the source of every claim.
• Corrections. If we get something wrong, we publish the correction clearly and without delay. The procedure is on the Corrections & complaints page.
• Photos. We never present generic illustrations as footage of the actual event.
